I was so inspired by Domestically Speakings Burlap laundry sign that I bought the new printer, freezer paper and burlap. My son helped, we found an old frame and I love it, just need to add some touches to the frame with burlap roses and it will be ready to frame. We were so inspired, my son started making Christmas gifts for the family with other quotes, now to find and paint some frames! Can't believe how easy it is to print cloth on my printer, love the freezer paper idea.

Finally got the curtains hung!
Found this curtain idea on Knock-Off Wood site while looking and dreaming of building the Farmhouse bed. I bought the painters drop cloths and then found my Allen Roth curtain rods at lowes for 75% off! Clipped on the clip rings and they were done! Really makes the room look warmer and cozier, just in time for winter.Thought the wrinkles would fall out but will have to bring the steamer in here! Now only every other room in the house needs window treatments! At least I have cellular blinds on all so privacy is not an issue, only lack of style.
I am now looking for a way to get a chabby chic drape for my room that will look good with the Shabby Chic bedding I bought at Target. Rods are already bought, chose the brushed nickel to match door hardware. Anyone with ideas please share !
The Ana White inspired shelves that started it all !
Can't believe I made my own blog!
Hi everyone! I built my new home and moved in a little over a year ago. Let me begin by saying I am not crafty or creative and lived for a year without anything hung on the walls because I didn't know where to put anything nor how to hang something without damaging my new drywall. My family realizes this about me and have always helped but I decide it was time to learn to be a diy person.
I found a site by Ana White and it changed my outlook on what I could do. Suddenly I found myself reading blogs ( something I had never done) and getting all these ideas for our home. My 12 year old son also caught the DIY bug and was eager to help my transform our big empty spaces with a little style and warmth.
I contracted my home built after finding it online and falling in love with the beach cottage. I have lived in a very small town in Missouri for most of my life and remain there because my family and friends are there. I had to give up my dream of living on a beach to remain here so I decided I would have my beach house on my Midwest creek! My Bermuda Bluff Cottage is now actually a creek cottage with open fields in the back yard rather than the crashing surf but I am trying to turn the inside into a shabby chic coastal style home.
Our first project was the DIY gallery ledges I found on Ana Whites site. They are Pottery Barn knockoffs and I love anything from PB but even if I could afford PB I would have to drive 4 hours to shop there or pay huge shipping fees so you can understand why I am loving all my discovered blogs and ideas I find there!
I want to show the Ana White Gallery Ledges my son made, still needs to fill the frames he sprayed with some photos, I am thinking all black and white but still need to drag out the bins of pictures and decide what to put in the frames.
